What is happening in the image/video?

A father and his 12-year-old son under fire on the Saladin Road, south of Gaza City. The boy, Muhammad al-Durrah, was mortally wounded and died soon after.

What did Talal Abu Rahma do next?

Ambulances were called, but they were delayed by the shooting. The driver of the first ambulance to arrive was reportedly shot to death, as was a Palestinian driver of a jeep. The boy and his father were eventually transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Talal Abu Rahma telephoned the hospital, where he was told that they had received three bodies - that of a jeep driver, an ambulance driver and a child, who was initially named Rami Al-Durrah. Some confusion remains about the sequence of the events.
